“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”
Station 7 - Commit
Luke 23:44-46
44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, 45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. 46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.
Jesus was committed to doing the will of God even though it meant He would die. But through His death, He brought us life!
Have you committed your life to Jesus? If not, and you’d like to, we invite you to ask Him into your life today. Commit your spirit to God by praying:
“Jesus, thank you for loving me and making it possible for me to spend eternity with you, starting today. I confess I don’t deserve it. I have sinned against you and lived according to my own selfish desires. Because of my sin, I need a Saviour. Thank you for sending Jesus to pay for my sins by dying in my place. Jesus, today I want to accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you for offering me a fresh start, for eternal life and most of all, thank you for loving me. Jesus, from this day forward, I choose to commit my life to following you as Lord and true King of this world. Amen.”

I’m starting a relationship with Jesus
Isaiah 64:8 says, “Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay. You are the potter; we are all the work of Your hand.”
Take the play-doh from your activity bag out of its container and mould it into different shapes. As you do, think about how God might be wanting to mould you in this season of your life. Surrender yourself to Him and commit your spirit to Him.
Sometimes, our commitments need strengthening.
What can you do to solidify your commitment to God?
Pray: Thank Jesus that He committed Himself to the Father’s will by dying on the cross for you and me. Thank Him for making the ultimate sacrifice so we can have NEW LIFE in Him.
