“It is finished!”

Station 6 - Finished

John 19:30

When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

The word “finished” comes from the Greek word that also translates as “it is accomplished” or “it is complete.”

When Jesus died on the cross, that meant there was nothing left for us to do. The cross is a symbol of God’s finished work in our lives. Nothing left to prove — no work let to do to obtain salvation. It was just…finished.

Take the two popsicle sticks with double-sided tape from your activity bag and make a wooden cross  and on it write “It Is Finished” and your name down the bottom as a reminder that Jesus died for you.

What was “finished” when Jesus died on the cross?

As you walk to the next station, give thanks for the sacrifice of the cross and for its reminder of Jesus doing everything so that we might obtain salvation.
