“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
Station 4 - Forsaken
Mark 15:33-34
At noon the sky became extremely dark. The darkness lasted three hours. At three o’clock, Jesus groaned out of the depths, crying loudly, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”
As you walk to the next station reflect on what Jesus offers us through his death on the cross.
- Have you ever felt like God has abandoned you? How did that feel?
- How can you remind yourself of God’s presence when you’re feeling “abandoned?”
Despite His feeling of abandonment, Jesus obeyed and put His hope in God. Fear not, this story isn’t over.
